The Marine Corps way of life is rooted in a value system that includes a love for God, Country and Corps. By the ruckus we make celebrating our birthday, you would think we have it backwards. But we don’t. We are vocal about our love of the Marine Corps, for our fellow Marines and the Marine way of life. That’s just one reason we have the Marine Corps League.
The Marine Corps League offers us a chance to serve our community and share a part of the portion of our lives that took us away from home. One tradition of Essex County Leathernecks on Independence Days of the past was to serve in parades and remember our contributions to America’s freedoms.
As a walk back in celebrating American Independence, Essex County Leatherneck style, we keep alive the memory of those who have served to honor God, Country and Corps. May God bless America.
