Essex County Leathernecks celebrated the Marine Corps 250th anniversary with tradition and style. The Birthday Ball brought nearly 150 people together from all across the nation. Together, Marines, Marine veterans, friends and loved ones celebrated the night away. In stirring revolutionary spirit, opening colors were carried by the local Ticonderoga Drum and Bugle Corps.

Our keynote speaker movingly tied his local roots with the motivation and love he has for the Marine Corps. He also did something uncharacteristic of some Marine speakers — he kept it short! The Ball honored our Marine Corps traditions and Essex County Leathernecks celebrated our members top achievements.

This Birthday Ball knitted together local friends, family and even a reunion for some Marine veterans. It was also a time to remember those who are no longer with us, whether they did not make it home or have recently stood their final inspection. Our bond is not broken by absence. Marines still look after one another.
Stay tuned for more details on the Birthday celebrations for 2026! Better yet, come join us.
